Le Premier Entretien (The First Interview!)

As of Monday, I have my first interview for a real world job!!!

I'm really excited, but kind of nervous. It's a phone interview, so it's definitely different than I'm used to. I will be interviewing for the SSM Healthcare FUTURES Nursing Academy. It's technically a Graduate Nurse program. I didn't exactly apply for it actually. I applied for a regular RN position, but I guess because I'm a GN, I would automatically be considered for their GN program.

Please please please say prayers for me! My interview is at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning.

Wish me luck!

Les Pâques (Easter--Margreiter Style!)

HE IS RISEN!

HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!
Happy Easter avid blog readers! I hope you've had a wonderful day filled with chocolate, Jesus, and eggs!

At the Margreiter Easter, we celebrate a little differently...
What does this entail?
1. Guns. Yep, you read that right. We shoot shotguns. It's become somewhat of a tradition to hold a little target practice in my aunt's boyfriend's open field. Many shots are fired and many clay pigeons give their lives in the name of entertainment. Good times.
2. Four-wheelers. Again, yep. Four-wheelers. Althougth my cousins and I are generally the only ones driving them, we enjoy the wind in our hair and fulfill our need for speed!
3. Drinks. Yes, we've been known to put back a drink or two at a Margreiter holiday. Today we celebrated my aunt's new job with some champagne!
4. Delicious food! Our meal is a potluck buffet style. Simple, easy, and soooo good :)

Easter was great this year! I took pictures, but I don't have my card reader, so I'll post pics later!

For now, all I can say is: Happy Easter!!!

Printemps (Spring) :)

This is why I love spring:

White trees. I think Brooke, my sister, would agree. It's our favorite part of springtime!

Nouveaux vêtements (New Clothes! *And shoes!)

Birthday = Presents
Presents = Clothing and shoes
Clothing and shoes = cute!

So...without further ado, here are 3 of the 5 items mom and dad got me for my Birthday (I couldn't find pictures of the other ones online!)

CUTE floral skirt! I am in love this skirt! I absolutely adore the zipper detail on the front. It was love at first sight.

Well, mom and dad aren't a huge fan, but my sister and I love these shoes! They're SUPER comfortable and affordable at $39. Not too shabby for comfortable heels :)

Loving these black heels! I have a pair of wedge black heels, but they have definitely been worn to their max, so it was time for a new pair! These shoes are also very comfortable and were only $20! (The shoe pictured is dark brown, but mine are black.)

The other two dresses are from Target. The first one is a cute kimono style dress. It's purple with a "boho" print on it. Super light fabric and very comfortable to wear! The other dress is a flowery print that can be worn strapless or with the detachable straps. It has a ruffle on the top hem of the dress.

Thanks mom and dad for some fabulous gifts!!!

Other items I received: a massage from my sister, money from family, and The Blind Side from my aunt (Such a good movie! Go rent it if you haven't seen it!)

Thanks for a wonderful Birthday friends and family. I am so very blessed :)

Je suis vingt-deux (I'm 22)

As of two days ago, I turned 22 years old. Although I liked my year as a "crazy" (I say this lightly) 21 year old, I'm ready to turn 22. It's like something inside me clicked the moment the clock hit midnight, and I feel prepared to start "adulthood." (Again, I say this lightly).

Highlights of my 21st year of life:
1. Turning 21. Hello! This is huge for a college student!
2. Going into my first bar...it's always quite the experience. But also, getting to spend it with friends and
    family :)
3. Finishing med/surge. Hey, it was tough!
4. Getting accepted into a nursing externship with a hospital in St. Louis, MO. I worked in the Labor and
Delivery department. It was an amazing experience!
5. Starting Senior year. This is another big one for a college student.
6. Visiting a friend in North Carolina and getting to know his wonderful family.
7. Spending time with family over the various holidays. I love my family, and I'm so thankful that we're able
to spend that quality time together.
8. Sharing in the excitement of at least 15 engagements for really good friends. I'm so excited for them!
9. Entering my last semester of college ever.
10. Getting placed in the Med-Neuro-Surgical ICU for my senior practicum. I learned SO much during
those 180 hours! It was well worth losing my weekends.
11. Buying my cap and gown as I prepare for graduation.

Obviously I had a good 21st year. There were both ups and downs, but I'm thankful for every moment.

Turning 22 is even more exciting. There are going to be challenges and obstacles to overcome, but I'm ready to face them head on. This year, I'll experience "real life." My 22nd year is going to be filled with defining moments: graduation, my first real job, my first personal apartment, my first bills (I think I can hear mom and dad cheering now!), etc. I'm growing up. I feel like life has just begun and I can't wait to stand there and stare life in the face.

I'm SO ready. Bring it on.

Je suis terrible avec les mises à jour (I am terrible with updates!)

So...I know what you're thinking. Wow, Betsey, you suck at this whole blog thing. But...here I am! I finally have some more time to update.

However, honestly, there really isn't anything new in my life. I've been working on homework like crazy, studying for tests, applying for jobs, finishing my hours for my nursing practicum (I'm at 156!!! Only 2 shifts left!), going to a million meetings, watching 5 billion friends get engaged/married, and trying to have some fun during my last semester.

If I have anything to report, I guess it should be this:

I bought my cap and gown and graduation announcements. Scary right?

I'm SO not prepared for this. Graduation is less than 2 months away! How is that possible?? It seems like I just started college, and now I'll be walking across the stage in 53 days. Wowza!

I took a picture with my phone, but I don't know how to upload those photos, so I'll take one later.

No job yet. The search is still on. At this point I've applied to about 6 hospitals and probably 15 or 16 jobs. I'm hoping something comes along. I mean, I'm keeping my options pretty open. I've been applying for positions in: the NICU, labor and delivery, pediatric emergency services, ICUs etc. I really don't want to work on a med/surge floor, but I'm starting to think that that might be my best bet. I don't know. I just need to keep searching. Say prayers for me...it'd be nice to find a job!

La vie Après l'Université (Life After College)

So...I don't even know where to start...I guess I'll begin with my dilemma. I don't know what I'm going to do. I realize that this is the case with most post-college graduates, but I'm already terrible at making decisions (ask my family on this one...), so this is extra hard for me! I mean, this is quite possibly the biggest decision I will be making for a long time. It can affect the rest of my life. Seriously. So...I think I'll just start out with some pro/cons for current location options:

St. Louis, Missouri
PROS
-Home near family
-Lots of friends in STL
-Could live at home for a while so I could be financially stable
-I would be able to do the DNP program at Mizzou
-Already talked with a couple of friends about living together
-It's a comfortable environment
-Obtaining a nursing license would be so much easier in MO
CONS
-I'm too comfortable with it
-I want an adveture and going home wouldn't be too much of one
-The safest place to live is the suburbs and I want to live near people my age
-I would move home, whereas I'd love to be independent right off the bat
-A lot of hospitals are either on hiring freezes or aren't accepting applications until April/May (I would like to have a job by then!)
-Am I settling? Would I ever move away if I did just go to STL?
-Starting pay is less than Dallas
-I'd have to drive to and from work everyday--no public transportation

Dallas, Texas
PROS
-ADVENTURE!!!
-New city, new me
-I've already found a great area to live in: The Village. It's 14 apartment complexes in one big complex! It's huge and totally accessible to all major areas in Dallas
-I would live in hip downtown, which is actually safe
-I have a few friends there that would be willing to help me move/get my feet on the ground/search for jobs
-Lots of opportunities for internships (what nurses usually start with)
-Great starting pay for RNs
-There are graduate programs for nurses at Baylor Nursing School and University of TX-Arlington
-Trains run from the apartments to hospitals, so I wouldn't have to drive to work
-Cost of living is equivalent to STL (depending on where you live)
-Warm weather!! (Mostly year-round)
-Our good family friends live there, so I'd have a second set of parents right there
-Most hospitals will pay for me to move down there

CONS
-The DNP at Mizzou is so readily available, but I wouldn't be able to do it if I were in Dallas
-Would miss family and friends
-9 hour drive to and from STL
-Already turned down from internships because I'm not from Texas...it's almost a disadvantage that I'm not from Dallas
-I probably wouldn't have a roommate
-Might have problems making friends (maybe, maybe not)
-I would have to move everything down there
-Wouldn't be able to be close to family during holidays if I have to work
-I don't speak Spanish, which is a huge percentage of the population...I'd have to learn some.
-I'd have to figure out where and how to obtain a Texas nursing license

Houston, Texas
So...now one of my friends really wants me to think seriously about Houston. I don't know much, but here's what I know:
PROS
-I would already have a roommate and an apartment...I wouldn't have to deal with any of that
-I have family in Houston
-There are tons of opportunities and great hospitals

CONS
-Same as Dallas pretty much
-It's extremely hot there!! And humid.

So...what do I do? What do you all think I should do? There are great reasons to stay in St. Louis, but there are a lot of reasons to move to Dallas. I guess my best option at this time is to apply to jobs in all three cities and see what the Lord gives me. It's the best I can do at this time.

If you all have any suggestions (or connections *hint hint*), I would gladly take them!

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

Le Premier Examen (The First Test!)

Here it comes! The first test of the final semester.

What's it on? Eh, I don't really know.

....just kidding. This is the test about cardiac: EKGs, arrhythmias, vasopressors (a medication and a hormone), about 15 other meds, and cardiac diagnositic tests. Should be fun. Well, maybe not. Ask me AFTER the test.

So here's to nothing! Wish me luck :)

***Neige (Snow)***

With February comes love, and what I love is SNOW!

Well...usually...

See, I love when I can sit inside my house, by the fire with a book, and watch as the world outside gets covered with a blanket of fresh snow. There's something peaceful about snow. Maybe it's the realization that each flake is uniquely designed, the beauty of the trees covered with that white powder, or the graceful dance as the flakes fall to the ground. There are a number of things that make snow so delightful!

However...there are even more things that make it very UNdelightful (is that even a word??). Take for example: the entrance to my apartment complex is a hill (smart design, huh?), so I watched as a four car pile-up took place. Later I heard it ended up being a SIX car pile-up. YIKES!
Another reason: it's cold (DUH). However, when you're trying to get to a friend's apartment (in the complex next door mind you), it's not a fun adventure in tennis shoes! Needless to say, I fell once, almost twice, on the ice on the way home.
One more reason: despite inches of ice and snow, my university NEVER calls off school! It's not like I had class today anyway, but it would be nice to have a snow day for my friends. I'm interested to know...did you go to school today??

In a time like this, I can dream of owning only one thing: Michael Kor's boots. They're GORGEOUS and look oh-so-warm with the shearling on the sides and inside! They're also high enough to cover my entire lower leg, which would be nice in this "feels like -8 degrees" weather.
With the hefty price of $298.00, I think I'll stick with my Fuggs (fake Uggs for those who don't understand the slang). Yes, I admit to wearing the Fuggs, which I think are the UGLIEST shoes ever made, but hey, we gotta stay warm somehow, right?? Wish I didn't have to wear 'em, but they're in my price range. For now, I'll just have to keep dreaming of trudging through the snow in Michael Kors. *Sigh*

Au Revoir,

xoxo Betsey

Malade :( (Sick)

Three weeks into the semester and I'm sick. Yeah...not cool. It all started Friday night:

I went into "work" that night (aka went to do a 12 hour shift for my practicum...no paycheck for this work!) feeling great! I felt well-rested, ready to get started, but just a little nervous for the night shift. I got to the MedNeuroSurgical ICU, met my preceptor, and we got down to business. Not 15 minutes into work, and I started feeling a tickle in my throat. Where else would we have been except a patient's room, right? So, mid-choking, I excuse myself from the room and begin hacking up a lung in the hallway. Great start, huh? As I'm standing there coughing into my sleeve, my preceptor takes me to the clean utility room and shows me where I can find water. As soon as the tickle went away, I said to him,

"Man...I don't know where this is coming from! I feel fine, but sometimes I just get these tickles that won't go away. I always get them at the most inconvenient time! I get them during tests sometimes."

And he replies,

"Oh, well I guess sometimes when you're anxious you can get those."

So of course I explain to him that I'm not anxious, I'm excited for this experience! We go back to work.

Ten minutes later...there I am hacking up a lung again! Come on throat! Cut me a break! I actually started praying that God would spare me the coughing...sad, but true.

Luckily I made it through the shift successfully. I woke up Sunday morning feeling stuffy and having coughed all night. I think the lack of sleep awoke something in my system, because honestly, I felt fine on Friday! I did! I wouldn't have gone in if I didn't. Which is what happened Sunday night. I called in sick. So now I'm just recovering from a small cold. No fevers, no chills, no aches. Just cough and runny nose. Nothin' a little Dayquil and Nyquil "Cough" won't fix! I'll be back before I know it.

Here's to feelin' better and vitamin C!

Equipe de nuit (Night Shift)

This is going to be a super short post because I leave in one hour to do my first night shift! I'm really excited to get started, but I'm nervous about tonight!

Wish me luck :) I'll let you know how it goes!

Jolis Clous (Pretty Nails)!

When it comes to beauty, I'm definitely a girlie girl! I love playing with make up, curling my hair, but most of all, I love painting my nails.

Today I want to share the Spring 2010 nail polish trends with you! I have done my fair share of research and have come to the following conclusions:

Pastels
As usual for Spring, pastels are back! However, they're coming back in new shades! Soft pink is no more! The newest pastel? Green! I'm loving the seafoam color, but I'm not sure I can rock it. Lilacs and light blues are also big for Spring 2010.

Peach
I love the softness of this color. It's a rich color without being dark or overwhelming.

Dark Blues and Purples
Against my mother's liking, I have started wearing a navy color on my own nails. It's almost black, but not quite. I've seen these colors in magazines, on the runway, and online. What used to be considered "goth" is now chic!

Metallic
Back in 6th grade, I used to wear silver nail polish. It was "cool" back then, but then the trend died. I'm so happy to say that METALLICS ARE BACK! Bronze, silvers, golds, the list is endless! So, return to those middle school years, and go ahead, paint 'em gold!

All of these colors are fantastic! Although classics like red and pink will never die, I'm so excited to see the newest trends! I'm a fan of all of the colors, so I might have to change it up every once and a while.
Happy nail painting!

Au Revoir for now,

Practicum Placement!!

Hi all!

I wanted to update you on the practicum placement for my LAST semester of nursing school. So...without further ado, my placement is:

Med-Neruro ICU at University Hospital!!!

I'm really excited about this opportunity, however, I'm nervous. I'm working weekend NIGHTS. Nights. AHHHHHHHH!!!! How am I going to survive?? I will never stay awake for that! I mean, I'll adjust to it eventually, but I feel like it's going to take me a while to get there.

Well, this is it. Wish me luck! I'm hoping to begin this weekend, but we'll see. Don't worry, as always, I'll keep you updated.

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

P.S. I passed my calculations exam with a 99%. Heck yes.

Magasin d'économie (Thrift stores)

As I continue to look at fashion blogs, I have realized that most of these women are turning to thrift stores to purchase their fabulous fashions. I'm amazed at how some of these women can transform drab pieces of clothing into complete genius!

I want to learn how to create some gorgeous fashions too! I have a sewing machine, so what's stopping me? My inexperience? My lack of time? Low creative side? I don't know, but it's something that I think I'm going to start doing. Why spend $40 on a new top when I can take a $2 shirt and make it look like $100??

We'll see what happens...it probably won't happen, knowing my schedule and frankly my motivation, but maybe my weekends should be spent being creative, rather than sitting on my booty! Don't you all think it'd be a fun hobby?? I do!

New challenge for me? We'll see :)

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

Blogs Worth Blogging About (Can you believe there's no French word for blog?? Haha)

One of the other reasons I started a blog was because I felt inspired. I have kept up with a few blogs here and there, and I'd like to share them with you! Maybe they'll inspire you to create your own blog!

For the fashion forward:
http://www.seaofshoes.com/
This is my absolute favorite blog! An 18-year-old girl by the name of Jane Aldridge, created this blog at the age of 16. She's from Dallas, TX (yay!) and she's lucky enough to have the money to purchase AWESOME shoes and clothing! Prada, Gucci, Mui Mui...you name it, she's got the brand! Jane posts pictures of her various outfits, trips to New York and Paris, and the amazing E-Bay purchases she and her mom make on a WEEKLY basis!

For those shopping on a budget:
http://www.prettyandpoor.com/
This blog was started by a friend of mine, Emily, about a year and a half ago. She's a very fashion-forward girl with an awesome job in marketing! She blogs about the latest trends, frivelous shopping, and her everyday life. She definitely has her own style, and I love it! Check it out!

For a fashionable college student:
http://www.teenfashionista.com/
Casey, a student at my University, has a blog that represents the average college student. Here you'll find GREAT deals (a $3.50 dress from Old Navy anyone??) and steals. She's had this blog since the age of 14, so it's definitely a keeper! Although she has the occasional splurge, most of the clothing is very reasonable and always fashionable!

For a blog updated daily:
http://www.newdressaday.wordpress.com/
This 30-year-old woman is on a mission! 365 days, $365 dollars. She's thrifting clothing for an entire year...something new everyday. She always posts pictures of the (mostly) hideous clothing before she cuts them up, sews 'em, and embellishes them! Her beautiful creations could sell in retail stores! The blog is updated daily since she's wearing something different everyday.

For your creative side:
http://www.creaturecomfortsblog.com/
This blog features TONS of do-it-yourself projects from party decor to jewelry! It's filled with pictures, templates, and tutorials to help you finish your projects. She mentions fun websites, great gift ideas, decorating techniques, and fashion on a budget--she calls it Chic for Cheap. Go here! You won't regret it!

For a good laugh:
http://www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com/
This website is sure to make you laugh! Various people from around the United States send in pictures of their families. The catch? They have to awkward pictures. The photos are endless on this site and they update quite frequently. Trust me, you don't want to skip out on this one!

For Midwest high fashion:
http://www.kansascouture.com/
This hip fashionista started her blog in 2008, and hasn't looked back! She's been featured in Lucky, Glamour.com, and urbanoutfitters.com to name a few! If you haven't figured it out, she's from Kansas, but she certainly doesn't skip out on the high fashion New York style! Most, if not all, of her clothing is thrifted, so it's a great blog to go to when you don't have a lot of cash but you still want to look fabulous!

For a daily dose of fashion:
 http://whatiwore.tumblr.com/
Jessica is a fabulous blogger with a fabulous wardrobe...mostly constructed by her! She loves sewing and thrifting items of drab clothing and turning them into works of art! I am really inspired by her creations and her wardrobe! She has a basic fashion blog, which mostly consists of pictures of "what she wore today." It's fun to see her day-to-day outfits! Be sure to check it out!

So there you have it! All of these blogs inspired this blog. I may not be as fashionable as Kansas Couture or Jane Aldridge, but I still have a style all my own! Enjoy these AWESOME blogs and don't get addicted...like me!

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

Souhaiter la liste (Wish List)

I LOVE clothing! I LOVE shoes! I LOVE bags! Who doesn't??

Being a college student, when I shop, I don't spend a lot. Or as of late, I don't shop at all (GASP!). Since I'm moving to Dallas, I'm trying to be as conscious about money as I can be! I need to be prepared for expenses come June. But...I can't help myself! I LOVE to browse! I love to look at pretty things online. It's like my own shopping mall at the tips of my fingers.

Online browsing + gorgeous things = WISH LIST!

So, without further ado, here's my TOP 5 WISH LIST:

5. Plum Houndstooth Sleeveless Dress by Target
I absolutely LOVE the clean lines of this dress! It's both professional and playful! The shape of the dress is flawless and flatters every size.

4. Avington Slipper Chair
I really like the design of this chair! It's modern, yet classic. It would be uber cute in my Dallas apartment! I would love to decorate in brown and blue/green.

3. Betsey Johnson Kareas Ankle Boot
I really like the peeptoe/boot combination. A lot of designers are using the combo, and I actually really like the look. Betsey's shoe is oh-so-cute in a grayish color, so it would go with a lot! It also comes in black, for those traditionalists.

2. Tiffany Elsa Peretti Open Heart Pendant
Who doesn't want a little turqouise box?? I know I do! And I want this item to come in it! What I love so much about this pendant is that it contains an aquamarine stone, my birthstone! When I saw it on the Tiffany website, I just know it wants me to buy it someday.

1. And finally...my number one wish!
Prada Forest Calfskin studded medium tote
I am IN LOVE with this bag!!! I will probably never be able to afford it, but I love the detailing on this gorgeous handbag. The studs are perfect for the season and hand-applied. SO beautiful!

That's all for now. If I had room, I could post about 20 different pictures of things I want. I did get one thing that's been on my wish list for a long time, though. My sister recently got me a Coach wristlet! It's from the new collection; black C's with a little silver patch displaying the Coach name. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it, so thanks Brooke!

My love for labels will never die, despite not ever being able to afford a $2,000 handbag or $600 pair of shoes. For now, I will keep on wishing :)

Au Revoir,

xoxo Betsey

Accablé (Overwhelmed)

Today was my first day of classes. Being a nursing student also has its perks too. As an 8th semester (senior!) nursing student, I have classes ONE day a week! Yep...one day a week. My one day is Thursdays.

While this may seem like an awesome set-up, unfortunately this semester is going to be CrAzY!! Besides doing the normal homework and reading, I also have clinical hours to fulfill. In my practicum, I must work 15 12 hour shifts with a nurse and in community health, I have to put in 90 hours. 270 hours total. SHOCKER! Hello! That's A LOT of time! I'm nervous as all get out, but I know that it will be a really good learning experience.

As of right now, I'm not sure where my practicum will be, but I do know that I will be at the Wellness Center on campus for community health. I'll be helping with smoking cessasion and stress reduction for women's health. It should be really interesting! On top of all that, I'm working with an awesome girl from my sorority who graduated in December! It'll be fun to work with her.

I'll have to keep you all updated on the whole practicum thing. (BTW...the practicum is our placement in the hospital. I've put down three top ICU choices, but I'm waiting to find out which one I get.)

Tonight I am enjoying a final night of freedom before things really heat up.
Teriyaki chicken + "The Wedding Date" + RUF + great roommates = FABULOUS!

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

Exercice (I bet you can figure this one out...) et les garçons (boys)

Exercise. A word I don't usually use too often. However, I've recently gotten into a little health kick (finally!) and have been using this word frequently. Results of said exercise? Pain! My abs hurt, my sides hurt, my shins hurt, my thighs hurt. Wow...rhyme much?

Anyway, I've been working out for three days straight and I feel great, despite the pain! There's something to be said about the empowerment that comes with working out. Although I will never run a 6 minute mile, I take pride when I accomplish a tough 30 minute walk/jog on the treadmill or an intense work out video. Yeah, there's pain. Yeah, I feel out of breath sometimes, but it's 100% worth it. Working out gives me an opportunity to think. Weird as this may seem, I do my best thinking when I'm at the gym. Which leads me to the next point of this posting...

Boys. Now, I know this point is something that people don't generally care about/want to hear about, but stick with me for just a minute.
Here's the thing; I've never really been happy being single. "Well duh," you might think, but hear me out. I've dated a few different guys in college, and they've never worked out. Different religious views, odd quirks, and lack of interest kept these relationships from developing. I'd break up/get broken up with and by the next day, I was ready for a new guy. "That guy" or "THE ONE" hasn't come into my life (yet). It wasn't until Monday night that my being single became something of happiness...

I went to a Life After College conference on Monday evening at my church and attended a seminar called "Singleness and Marriage." As a happy (and might I add pregnant) couple addressed the concerns of being single, I thought to myself,  "Great...what do you know about being single?? You got married right after college!" However, as usual, I was wrong. This couple said four words that have ENTIRELY changed my view on being single: delight in your singleness. The phrase really hit home for me. Delight in my singleness.

A 13-year-old Betsey once said, "When I'm done with college, I'm moving away and having an adventure!" Turns out...she was right. The only sole reason why I'm able to move to Dallas, TX in June (well, that's the plan anyway) is because I'm single. I'm not tied down, and I have no one holding me back. Being single has turned out to be wonderful! Now...God has a sense of humor, so who knows what He has planned, but for now, I can completely delight in my singleness!

That being said, LOOK OUT DALLAS! HERE I COME!

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

J'aime l'université (I love college)...sometimes

One of the perks of being a college student? Sleeping in.

Today is Martin Luther King day, so as we remember that glorious speech "I Have a Dream," we college students take the day off of classes. At my university, semester classes haven't even started yet, so we enjoy one last day of freedom before the semester commences.

So, what am I doing on this last glorious day? Studying for a test. Yes, you read that right. I'm studying for a test that starts at approximately 7:45 a.m. tomorrow morning.
"But Betsey, you haven't even started classes yet!" Yep, I know. This is what being a nursing student means. On the first day of every semester, we nursing students get up at 7 a.m. to be at an exam that tests our knowledge of medication calculations. Each semester, the required score increases in order to pass. I have to get a 98% tomorrow, which essentially means I can miss one question. It's generally not too hard, but can be tricky if you get caught up on a problem. Therefore, studying calls. Better posts soon. Promise!

Au Revoir for now,

xoxo Betsey

Ceci est la vie! (This is the life!)

Let's start out with an introduction, shall we?

Name: Betsey
Age: 21
Occupation: Nursing Student by day, living la vie fabuleuse (the fabulous life) by night!
Reason for blogging: It's simple really. I wanted to vent, I wanted to share, I wanted to talk. Here's the place to do it.
Hobbies: Shopping (on a college kid's budget mind you!), singing, going out dancing, studying (oh, the life of a student), glamming it up on the weekends, playing board games, working out (really it's a returning favorite), and hanging out with friends.
Favorite outfit to wear: This is tough. By day, I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl, but at night, I'm dress and heels all the way! Fave outfit consists of: black skinny jeans by Source of Wisdom, blue glam tee by Style & Co., silver leather jacket also by Style & Co., and black rocker fringe shoes by Delicious. Pictures to come.

This blog will feature the ins and outs of my everyday life. Sound boring? To some, it might be, but I promise NOT to be bland and NOT to hold back. I give you my word. I'll post pictures, I'll let you in on my life secrets, you'll meet family and friends and get a little insight into my life :)

But for now...it's bedtime. Interesting night tonight. More on that tomorrow!

Au Revoir,

xoxo Betsey
